THOUGHTS:

I liked this book. I read the 'sequel' first which turns out to not really matter because although Nick's dinner with Jesus is the jumping off point for Mattie's journey the second book does stand alone.

I like where David Gregory takes his theology. Though I admit I felt a little uncomfortable with his take on other religions and their lack of practical support for their claims. This book made me excited to study the history behind the Bible, which is kind of amazing because I generally don't like history.

I also think Gregory did a good job of creating a character in Nick who is accessable to everyone and people can relate to. Jesus is exactly how I imagine he would be to talk with. Gregory's take on God versus Religion is clear but not damning.
